The Eternal Supper

Digital Painting

This digital painting is inspired Leonardo Da Vinci, Michaelangelo and Joan de Joanes’s iteration on Jesus Christ’s ‘The Last Supper’, but I chose to include more diversity, themes, parables and symbolism. It was originally a commission by my uncle to draw his family in it; I saw it as an opportunity to add my own take to it. From the inclusion of the Tetramorph (human, eagle, bull and lion angels) representing different aspects of Christ's nature, but also the different races and genders, plus also the stories and parables from the Bible, such as The Pearl and Two Fish and 5 Loaves of Bread. Lastly, I added Christ in the middle to show how he still lives and invites all to the table now and always as he exists in all.
