Nubian Gold (2020)

The Nubian woman emerging from Africa, the gold beads, the clouds towering near her, the constellation of Africa of these elements were essential to test my skills and how to portray the model @ajakdengcom through a new lens.

Moon Sisters (2020)

Certain planets like Jupiter and Saturn have sister moons and though they are alike they each rotate differently and have different climates. Since @fa_fon are both twin sisters, I wanted to show their different personalities each of them have which makes them stand out.

Holly Rose (2020)

Less is more so the saying goes, and I chose to experiment with the muse @realredwoman as she brought a sense of intrigue and passion from a artistry. Ironically enough, I chose to have the red background clothe her in some case and have her stand out of it in some cases like a rose.

Thank You Uncle Phil (2020)

Said to be the father of American TV, James Avery in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air immortalised not only the ideals we wanted to learn for ourselves but also the fatherly everyone graciously felt both on and off tv. So what better to commemorate the man than to draw him with the role he played, the mentor, the guide and lastly, the father.

Danai Clay (2020)

This was my first practice at drawing digitally and rendering the colours and I referenced the Zimbabwean artist @danai_clay as a way to present a form of the colours whilst projecting a ‘African Princess’ aesthetic with her braids, soft colours and country’s overlay.

Spider-Man Marcus (2020)

In light of the current world’s status due to Covid 19 and children not being able to have or offered to have free food at school, Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford sought to change that narrative by demanding a change for them. From that action, he is renown as a voice to the youth and even a hero.

Still Shadey (2020)

As one of the few Christian grime artists I’ve ever heard, I wanted to honour @stillshadey for not only standing with his faith through his passion but also inspiring a new generation and perspective to what grime could be.

Torin (2020)

This was my first attempt at learning to properly illustrate with the aid @paintable.cc and the model @torinashtun which helped in understanding colours, form, shadows, texture and lastly, learning my own style.

Dean Sketch

Gestures and expressions are some of the top aspects that hep bring a character to life. So I chose to focus on displaying confidence through portraiture and after many tries, I managed to not only bring his personality to the for front but also a glee and intrigue to want to learn about him.

Olive I (2015)

This was my earliest test in digital illustrating of Olive and I was experimenting with adding detail were it mattered and less where it wasn’t necessary.

Tenesia and Danny (2020)

A commission that tested my limits but one that allowed me to capture an aspect of the love these two shared with each other on their anniversary.

This was the development after Olive I as I added a colour to help make her standout more whilst also complimenting the minimal aesthetic I wanted.
