 Don’t Be Blind (2015)

This series explores perceptions and views that history, society, and people may have toward Black, African, or Caribbean people. Inspired by the Snellen eye chart, with photography and Illustrator, I wanted to create a chart of the statements and slurs directed at most Black and Caribbean people, and how some remain unknown to most. From the language that denies their humanity to statements to return to where they come from by those who have colonised and annexed their countries for resources, this project was to shed light towards that note and to encourage people not to be blind to the language and acts of racism and prejudice.
